Valerie has had an interest in solar pv systems and the environmental and financial benefits they offer for some time. A family member had made the switch to solar power and this helped spur Valerie on to installing solar panels in her own home.
Quest Electrical had a limited amount of time to complete Valerie’s installation to ensure that it was completed before the new Energy Performance Certificate (EPF) requirement came into force. Solid contacts however made certain that all the necessary system components were secured in time.
Valerie was in the process of having the upper floor of her home renovated and altered so, with the work taking place and scaffolding already on site, this was the perfect time to complete a solar installation. Quest Electrical was recommended to Valerie by another tradesman working on her house. Valerie described the whole process as “a good experience” and found Ray and the team to be “helpful, knowledgeable, tidy in their work and extremely efficient.”
The space used by Quest Electrical to install the panels was between two roof areas, facing south and east. The east facing area was straightforward with nine panels and one inverter whereas the south facing system had a small shading issue during winter and spring. Ray designed the installation here with 3 inverters and 6 panels to give Valerie optimum generation potential.
“I was worried that the panels would overwhelm the roof but they actually look great. Ray chose wisely and they’ve blended in well. I didn’t imagine that I would be saying this but having solar panels installed by Quest Electrical was a very easy experience.”
System: 2.2Kwp on the east elevation and 1.47Kwp on the south elevation = 3.67Kwp total. East elevation has 1No SMA SB2000 inverter and south elevation has 3No Mastervolt Solidin 600 inverters. The panels are Schuco MPE 245 MS96.
